Barrhill Farm Self Catering Holiday Cottages are available for hire
all year round, and make the perfect base from which to explore the
surrounding Galloway countryside. Close at hand we have the
Galloway Forest Park with its walks, views, rides and history. For the
fisherman the River Cree provides some good coarse fishing, and shooting
and stalking is available within the area too. Newton Stewart is within
easy walking distance, whilst the rapidly expanding
Booktown at
Wigton is a mere five miles away by road. Golfing, shooting, fishing
and riding are all available locally. Ask us for more information!
  
Further afield the ferries to Belfast operate out of
Stranraer (Stena Line) and Cairn Ryan (P&O), 27 miles away, and offer
many special deals for midweek travel to the shops, coastline of Antrim
and the Bushmill's Distillery. (There is also our local distillery at Bladnoch, which
offers tours and even entertainment in season.) With tracts of countryside, rolling hills, rugged
coastline and well-stocked rivers, Galloway has something for everyone.
